Our in-house fabrication shop
In our work there is often a small object, a structural detail that is visually obvious, or even a major element, that we very much want to create ourselves. Or, perhaps, this element is on the critical schedule path, requiring that we control the production schedule. For these reasons, we have cultivated a variety of custom fabrication capabilities.
Ian Moore Design maintains an active fabrication shop with wood, metal and concrete capabilities. In our Richmond shop we can complete quick turnaround wood milling and carpentry, small scale metal fabrication and welding, as well as concrete countertops and furniture. Typical in-house fabrication elements include gate frames and architectural-grade fence components, pergola and trellis components, countertops, outdoor kitchen cabinets, and custom lighting.

When we are not producing our own custom garden elements at Ian Moore Design, we have the pleasure of partnering with a wide variety of crafts people and trades people. We have excellent partners in landscape maintenance, plumbing, electrical, demolition and hauling, precision metal fabrication, concrete pumping and finishing, and other licensed trades and specialties. Here in the San Francisco Bay Area we also have an incredible wealth of vendors providing unique and high quality elements for the contemporary landscape from lighting, outdoor heating elements, furniture, and every conceivable element for the garden.
